    The infrared carbon dioxide sensor is a sensor made using the principle of non-dispersive infrared (NDIR). It has various advantages such as good selectivity, long life, independence from oxygen, little environmental interference, not easy to be poisoned, and high precision. It is a type of sensor that is generally recognized by the market for carbon dioxide monitoring.

Working Principle

    Due to the different internal structures of various substances, their selective absorption of light of different wavelengths is also different. In other words, substances can only absorb light of a specific wavelength, and the absorption relationship of substances to light of a certain wavelength obeys the Lambert-Beer absorption law.

    Infrared carbon dioxide sensors are precision electronic components. The following points should be noted during use:

    1. Infrared sensors need to be preheated before use. Preheating is a process to stabilize the optical system components inside the infrared sensor, which can enable the sensor to achieve better test performance.

    2. To ensure that the sensor can work properly, the power supply voltage must be kept within the specified range. Exceeding the range may cause the sensor to malfunction, resulting in low sensor output concentration or malfunction.

    3. The sensor should be kept away from heat sources and avoid direct sunlight or other heat radiation. Do not use the sensor for a long time in an environment with high dust density.

    4. If the sensor needs to be placed in a small space, the space should be well ventilated, especially the two diffusion windows should be in a well ventilated position.
