The MQ-E3-H2 hydrogen sensor is a fuel cell type sensor. Hydrogen and oxygen undergo corresponding redox reactions at the working and counter electrodes, releasing charges and forming an electric current. The magnitude of the current is directly proportional to the hydrogen concentration and follows Faraday's law. By measuring the magnitude of the current, the hydrogen concentration can be determined.
