MQ-E3-CO carbon monoxide sensor is a constant potential electrolytic sensor. Carbon monoxide and oxygen undergo corresponding redox reactions on the working electrode and counter electrode, respectively, and release charges to form a current. The magnitude of the current is proportional to the carbon monoxide concentration. The concentration of carbon monoxide can be determined by measuring the magnitude of the current.
