MQ-E2-CH2O-φ16 formaldehyde sensor is a fuel cell-type electrochemical sensor. Formaldehyde and oxygen undergo corresponding redox reactions at the working and counter electrodes, releasing charges and forming an electric current. The magnitude of the current is directly proportional to the formaldehyde concentration and follows Faraday's law. The formaldehyde concentration can be determined by measuring the magnitude of the current.
