MQ-E2-C2H5OH-φ16 is a fuel cell-type electrochemical alcohol sensor. Alcohol and oxygen undergo a redox reaction at the working and counter electrodes, releasing electrical charges and generating an electric current. The magnitude of this current is directly proportional to the alcohol concentration and follows Faraday's law. The alcohol concentration can be determined by measuring the current.
