Application of TX940-D07 Laser Dust Sensor in Air Quality Detection

    Air pollution is ubiquitous, and no matter where you live, you can't escape it. The pollutant that affects people the most is particulate matter. We all know that atmospheric particulate matter is a general term for various solid and liquid particulate matter present in the atmosphere, often abbreviated as PM and used as a measure of air pollution.

    On September 22, 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) released its Global Air Quality Guidelines (AQG2021). The 2021 AQG tightened the annual average values for PM2.5 and PM10, setting them at 5 μg/m³ for PM2.5 and 15 μg/m³ for PM10.

    Given this, accurate PM2.5 detection has become increasingly important. Laser dust sensors use a laser LED as a light source. When fine particles in the air are pushed into the laser beam by a constant-current fan, the laser light is scattered. A photodetector is positioned appropriately to receive only the scattered light. The photoelectric effect of the photodetector generates an electrical signal, which, after amplification by a circuit, is used to determine the fine particle concentration.

    The TX940-D07, independently developed and produced by Tensensor, is a universal, miniaturized laser dust sensor module. Based on the Mie scattering principle, it utilizes specialized algorithms and calibration techniques to detect dust particles in the air.
