How the MS-GM5B Sensor Accurately Detects Air Pollution Hazards


    The MS-GM5B MEMS VOC gas sensor utilizes advanced MEMS technology, fabricating a micro-hotplate on a Si substrate. Its gas-sensitive material is a metal-oxide-semiconductor (MODS) material with low conductivity in clean air. When the sensor is exposed to a VOC-containing gas environment, its conductivity changes with the gas concentration—the higher the gas concentration, the higher the sensor's conductivity. This characteristic allows for the conversion of conductivity changes into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration using a simple circuit, enabling accurate VOC detection. This sensor can detect VOCs in the range of 1-500 ppm, including various harmful substances such as ethanol, formaldehyde, and toluene, meeting most indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring needs.
